Reflections from the path—within and beyond
This space is a way for me to connect the threads of what I’m experiencing, reading, reflecting on, and exploring—with the hope that it supports you in some small way on your own path. Many of you have expressed an interest and desire to follow along with my adventures and the work I’m creating, and it felt like the right time to start sharing in this way.
I’ll be writing about travel, personal growth, nervous system insights, and some of the tools I’ve been exploring lately (from yoga to microdosing to Somatic Experiencing). This won’t be a polished blog or a professional newsletter. I'll call it Sageful Journal, letters from the path, an extension of my coaching business. It'll be a bit of heart, a bit of reflection, adventure updates, and a few practices you might want to try for yourself.
What I’ve Been Up To
Over the past few months, I've been diving deep into some passions and love how they have blended together to center around an understanding of our Nervous System. I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with one of the most skilled and heart-centered teachers I know—DeAnna Shires. I was able to dig in deep to embody and integrate somatic awareness, breath, and movement into something I can now share more fully.
I also completed my first year of Somatic Experiencing® training and have stepped into the intermediate level—a deep and sometimes intense journey into understanding the nervous system and how to support it with care and presence. Both of these experiences have been profoundly shaping how I show up—for myself and others.
Where I’m Headed
Later this year, I’ll be returning to Thailand—a place I fell in love with on my last visit. There’s something about the culture, the warmth, the way time feels different there... I knew I wanted to go back. This time, I’ll be spending a couple of months immersing myself in the land, the people, and some deep study.
One of my big intentions is to grow as a Somatic Coach, especially in how I blend yoga into awareness of the nervous system into everyday practices like breath, movement, and rest. I’ll be doing a Yoga Teacher internship at a small permaculture community and ashram called Gaia Ashram that focuses on simple, intentional living and regenerative practice. It feels like a full-circle kind of step.
What I’m Building

This journey is also about building my own business with the passion to bring my unique blend of skills to help support people in meaningful ways.
Right now, that looks like:
Supporting the nervous system through somatic coaching— movement, breath, and awareness woven together
Providing trauma informed body based therapy support through Somatic Experiencing
Offering guidance for people who are exploring psilocybin microdosing as a support for emotional well-being
Integrating what I’ve learned through 20 years in Social Work and mental health care
Reflections from the Southwest
Last month I took a road trip through New Mexico and Colorado. I visited four national parks—Carlsbad Caverns, Guadalupe Mountains, White Sands, and Rocky Mountain National Park—plus a handful of state parks along the way. It was an adventure full of nature, fresh air, and possibility.

The purpose of my journey was to spend some time with myself, much like I did last summer in Oregon. I’ve realized a love for solo travel and want to continue leaning into that, while also making space for shared, connected travel opportunities.
I was also on a journey to deepen my learning around mushrooms, psilocybin, psychedelics, and their role in healing. During the trip, I had the opportunity to join two other professionals to hold space for three women, ages 65–85, as they each took their own journeys. I also spent time with a shaman who supported me through a personal journey that mirrored the symbols of my tattoo—sun, moon, star, and butterfly—a beautiful expression of renewal and change.
I came home with a sense of clarity. The mixture of skills I’ve been developing—yoga, nervous system work, somatic experiencing, plant medicine, and emotional support—has a place in this world. With so many people experiencing anxiety, stress, and disconnection, I believe I can help create meaningful change.
What’s to Come
In future posts, I’ll be sharing:
More stories and reflections from Thailand and beyond
Practices to support your nervous system
Insights from my work with psychedelics, yoga, and coaching
Book or podcast recommendations that are lighting me up
Honest check-ins from my own unfolding journey
If you’re curious about working with me or receiving support through somatic coaching or microdosing integration, I’d love to talk with you.
With heart and steps forward,
Kristen
